Cupid's Arrow - Game VFX

This game VFX made with Unity's particle system is built on the concept of a cupid themed projectile attack, so it makes consistent use of hearts and a red and gold palette.
I had fun making this! I was trying to make it a little cuter whenever I could.

In gameplay, the player activates the effect and uses this target to decide where to aim, giving a quick flash in confirmation when the player clicks on a location.

A custom additive shader in Unity used for the majority of the effect's particles. It allows for panning and rotating a texture, as well as distorting it with noise. Using the same material for most of the effect allows for fewer required passes.
